Team Challenge Frequently Asked Questions
What type of endurance athletes are you looking to comprise the team?
The training required to complete an endurance event and the lessons learned are a great metaphor for life and the HCM mission. We are looking for triathletes, runners, cyclists, or any endurance athlete coming from an endurance sporting discipline. There are no requirements as to how many years you have been competing, a certain level of results, or the distances you compete in.
I am already a member of a sponsored team/club, enjoy their benefits, and must race in their gear but I really want to be involved with HCM because I have been touched by cancer. Can I still contribute my effort?
Of course you can! We understand that as an endurance athlete there are many advantages to being on a team or club (discounts on product, group rides, etc.) and often times they want you to wear their gear. We do not make it mandatory to wear our kits; however, we will still give you the offer to receive our apparel. We only want you to wear it because you want to and not because you feel like you have to. We want to do everything we can to accommodate any conflicts because your genuine effort to help our mission is going to help many families.
I really want to be an HCM Fund Racer but I am concerned I may not be able to raise the minimum $2,500. Can I still be on the team?
Yes, you certainly can be on the team! We will work with you to develop fundraising ideas you are 100 % comfortable developing, can run with, and be successful so you hit the $2,500. This is a team and we will work together so we achieve all of our goals!
Is it possible to order more apparel than what is included by being on the team?
Most definitely! When we ask you to complete your clothing order form you may order more from the options we give you. We will ask you to donate back to HCM Foundation our cost on any extra item of apparel.
