Why: Our goal for the Fox CHASE AWAY CANCER Event is to provide a one day celebration and recognition of Fox Chase Cancer Center employees who continually fight cancer every single day for us and our families and those who have been or are currently being treated at Fox Chase. We invite and welcome all FCCC employees, former and current patients of FCCC, and the surrounding community to join us in this one day celebration so we may feel the power, courage, and human spirit that has moved those affected by cancer to continually fight for their life. Bring your friends, bring your family, bring anyone who has joined you in the fight against cancer. We are in this together and it is time to CHASE AWAY CANCER for good!
Proceeds: The event proceeds are split in order to benefit both patient care at Fox Chase Cancer Center and HCM Foundation programs.
Entry Fees:
EVENT Before 7/19 7/20 through race day
3.1 mile run $20 $25
2 mile walk $20 $25
.5 kids run (under 12) No charge - small donation encouraged
Schedule:
7:30 - 8:45 am - Packet pick up & race day registration
9:00 am - 5k race start
9:10 am - 1.5 mile walk start
9:45 am - Kids fun run
10:00 am - Awards presentation
Results: Timed results are provided by Pretzel City Sports and will be posted within 48 hours of the race at www.pretzelcitysports.com.
Course: An accurate slightly rolling but fast course starting at Saint Basil Academy and running through the Jenkintown neighborhood across from Alverthorpe Park. Once you come back out of the neighborhood you will re-enter Saint Basil Academy for a track finish! Run Course Map. Walk Course Map
T-Shirts: All participants who register on or before July 19th will be guaranteed a race tech tee shirt! We will have shirts for those who register after that date, but only while supplies last! So register early to get your race shirt!
Awards: Awards in the 5k will be presented to the top 3 overall male and female winners and to the top 3 male and female winners in the following age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over. All participants in the Kids Fun Run received an award! A free pair of Brooks running shoes will be awarded to the overall male and female finisher!
